VIRGIN WOOL
From sheep kept according to the guidelines of biological animal husbandry.
This means the correct treatment of animals, with access to ecological pasture. The sheds offer sufficient aylight, fresh air and dry, soft rest areas.
Artificial additives such as growth promoters, fattening agents, etc. are not permitted
Our ecru wool is chemically untreated. Coloured wool are dyed in an ecologically safe manner.
This wool is of particularly fine quality,is breathable, absorbent and wonderfully warm and is temperature regulating. The lanolin content in the wool gives it the ability to clean and disinfect itself and has the ability to neutralise body odour,

LIVING WOOL/SILK
Living wool offers a unique feature: new wool can be machine-washed at 30 C using the wool cycle. In order to provide this property, the wool is enzyme -treated in a special environmentally-sound process which neither destroys te structure of the wool nor coats the fibres. The enzymes used in the manufacture of LIVING WOOL are natural enzymes, similar to those used in the making of sour dough when baking bread. They are extracted from fruit such as papayas or sugar cane and feed exclusively on sugar and protein.
After treating the wool they decompose through warming, so that they do not trigger allergies, nor are they compaable with the enzymes used in the detergent industry which are genetically engineered. Therefore no "chemicals" are used.
